Primary Objective of Position:

As the most important person from the customer’s view, provides a positive friendly and memorable experience for all guests and excellent customer service. Maintains a friendly and cheerful manner to all customers at all times. Increases sales by promoting special drinks and special events.

Job Duties:

• Serves guests in a pleasant and friendly manner and creates a fun atmosphere.       
• Answers questions about food and drinks including their ingredients, preparation and accompanying items.       
• Greets newly seated guests in a friendly manner.       
• Takes beverage orders and dispenses and serves beverages.
• Takes food orders and repeats order to guests for clarification.       
• Merchandises menu items, such as appetizers, entrees, beverages and desserts.
• Obtains and maintains knowledge of all menu items.      
• Processes orders on Point of Sale system quickly and in proper sequence by using Micros order language and appropriate abbreviations and charges.       
• Follows alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication of guests.       
• Follows alcohol awareness procedures for handling intoxicated guests.       
• Attends to guests’ needs when delivering food and communicates with customer to ensure high level of guest satisfaction.       
• Observes guests to respond to any additional needs to ensure positive customer service experience.       
• Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter and providing extra napkins if necessary.       
• Totals bill and presents check upon removal of last plate or upon request.
• Accepts payment and provides change or credit card voucher within 1-3 minutes of guests’ payment.
• Responds calmly to angry guests and informs manager immediately.
• Checks identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
• Guides guests in selecting food and beverage items.
• Follows appropriate accounting procedures for closing checks and vouchers. Ensures that credit cards are not left in guest check folder.    
• Gives a warm and pleasant farewell to guests and invites them to return.       
• Keeps station clean, sets up and takes down station appropriately.       
• Attends shift meetings according to shift schedules.       
• Adheres to company alcoholic beverage policies.       
• Adheres to company sanitation procedures.  
• Maintains certain check average and retail sales to increase revenues.  
• At end of shift balances financial transactions and deposits cash due and required documentation according to company policies and procedures.  
• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action which may be taken.  
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.       
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity and efficiency, and effectiveness.       
• Provides a favorable image of the Company at all times to promote its aims and objectives, and to foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all of its areas of endeavor.
• Is dressed neatly and well groomed in company approved uniform at all times.
