Job Description

Primary Objective of Position:

Primarily responsible for preparing food and maintaining kitchen sanitation to Health Department standards.

Job Duties:

  • Adheres to company standards for guest service.
  • Prepares and arranges food according to company’s recipes, nutrition philosophy, and quality of presentation.
  • Continually updates knowledge of company recipes, food preparation and food presentation.
  • Labels, day dots, rotates and stores all food items.          
  • Stores and handles food properly, following Health Department requirements.
  • Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
  • Ensures all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
  • Ensures any anticipated shortages are communicated promptly to production chef or head chef on duty.
  • Ensures that all mise en place is always freshly prepared and on time.
  • Cleans kitchen as directed.
  • Trains staff members as directed.
  • Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
  • Performs other job related duties as directed.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to employee morale, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Is dressed neatly and well groomed in company approved attire at all times.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of food preparation, preferably in a high volume restaurant
  • PM Availability A MUST!
  • Aptitude for guest service and takes pride in company’s standards of excellence in food preparation and cleanliness
  • Ability to work in stressful situations
  • Frequent bending and stooping
  • Works indoors 100%
  • Works varied shifts, including weekend and holidays
